Counselling Services
Pregnancy Loss CounsellingThe experience of miscarriage can be lonely and confusing, it may be hard to find someone who understands the extent of your loss. I am an experienced pregnancy loss counsellor who offers grief counselling at all stages of pregnancy or baby loss.
Counselling may be helpful at different times; directly following miscarriage or baby loss; sometime afterwards if you are finding things tough; if you are feeling traumatized by your experience; if you are feeling anxious or depressed, or if you are trying to become pregnant again.
Postnatal Support
Following a difficult antenatal journey or a traumatic birth, some women may become overwhelmed. I have experience in supporting women to manage symptoms of postnatal distress following the birth of their babies or to support a referral to a medical professional if required.
Termination for Medical reasonsSome people face the impossible decision to terminate a pregnancy following the diagnosis of fetal abnormalities or maternal risk. I offer pre-decision counselling, supporting you to make the best decision for yourselves. Post decision counselling supports people to process and accept their decision and a space to grieve the loss of the baby they wanted. Counselling offers a non-judgmental place to grieve openly about your loss and to heal.
Infertility CounsellingI understand the emotional journey of fertility uncertainty, the physical and medical aspects of treatment and most of all, the significance of the loss. I offer counselling to those dealing with an infertility diagnosis, under-going fertility treatments or making decisions about treatment options. I offer counselling to those who have used alternative ways of building families, through egg or sperm donation, surrogacy, or embryo donation.
Counselling at the end of the fertility journey
I provide support for those deciding whether to continue their journey or to come to terms with a life without children. When they have reached the end of their fertility journey, counselling offers a place to grieve and heal and explore a future that was different to what you had imagined.
Couples support
I am familiar with the stress of fertility uncertainty on relationships and the differences in the way we all cope and grieve. Counselling can help couples to better understand and support each other.
Postnatal supportFollowing the journey of infertility and finally becoming pregnant, women can become overwhelmed, at times depressed and anxious. I offer counselling during the pregnancy and postnatally for those experiencing mental health challenges.
Supervision I offer supervision to social workers, counsellors and health professionals where grief and loss or health services is a focus of their work.
